Having an attitude of gratitude allows you to be thankful despite all the challenges and setbacks in life.
It is so easy to focus on what we lack in life and the things that we don’t have. But gratitude helps us to stay focused on the course of our life, and not get distracted by all of the negative stuff. In the words of Thoreau Walden, “when you feel lacking, you don’t need new things, you need new eyes.”
Gratitude is such an important emotion because it helps us to see all of the good in our lives, instead of dwelling on the bad. When we are grateful for what we have, it allows us to attract more good into our lives. So if you find yourself feeling down about what you don’t have in your life, take a moment to focus on everything that you do have – and be grateful for it!
In these uncertain times, it’s more important than ever to practice the attitude of gratitude. By making life a never-ending fiesta and celebration, we can appreciate all the things and people in our lives that make it better. By stopping to smell the roses and savoring the beauty in everything, we can live in the present moment and be grateful for what we have.

Keeping a running list of what you are grateful for, is the more aware you will be of life’s bountifulness, and the more your happiness will increase. For example, today I am grateful for my bed, which was so comfortable last night; my dog Snickers, who slept at the foot of my bed; and my job, which allows me to work from home. Gratitude journaling is a simple but powerful practice that can help shift your focus from what’s lacking in your life to all that you have been given.
Practicing gratitude has helped me to appreciate all the good things in my life even more. It’s also made me more aware of the needs of others and how I can help make their lives better too. Small acts of kindness mean so much to someone who may be struggling just to get by. A simple “thank you note” can brighten someone’s day and let them know that they are valued and appreciated.
What I am Grateful for this Thanksgiving
This Thanksgiving I am feeling blessed. And while I also recognize that not everyone is as fortunate as I am, I feel especially grateful for…
- My children are the light of my life and the reason I constantly strive to be better.
- Family, who despite all the ups and down is always there to lean on.
- Living the life you want to start with you becoming the most powerful version of yourself. But becoming the most powerful version of yourself starts with self-awareness and unwavering belief in yourself.
- The ability to be able to leverage my skills and expertise into a business. Plus, the opportunity to work with some cool brands, and meet some awesome people and the many perks make it that much more fun.
- My readers and clients allow me to pour into their lives, and keep coming back time and time again.
- That I have a power on my side that’s greater than anything, a God that is there to give me calmness in the midst of my storms.
When you’re thankful for what you have, it allows you to see the good in every situation. Additionally, gratitude has been linked to improved physical and mental health. So next time you’re feeling down, try practicing gratitude. You might be surprised at how much better you feel.
