September is childhood cancer awareness month and we’re honoring pediatric cancer patients like St. Jude patient Scarlet by helping to raise funds and awareness.
I have many titles, but the title I’m most proud of being a mom. And nothing scares me more than when my daughter is having an asthma attack and all I want is for her to get back to her regular self. So I can imagine the anxiety the families of the St. Jude kids feel. Hence, the reason I support the life-saving work that St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® is doing… Leading the way the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
Did you know that pediatric cancer is the leading cause of death by disease for children under the age of 14?
Four hundred thousand children (43 in the U.S.) all over the world are diagnosed with cancer every day. These kids and their parents travel to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® to get the treatment they need. The best part, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food.
Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened in 1962. And St. Jude won’t stop until no child dies from cancer.
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness and Sickle Cell Awareness Month, and we are honoring pediatric cancer patients by raising funds for the brave St. Jude children.
