When parents have to make tough choices, digital learning by choice or necessity.
As COVID-19 cases along with the death rate continue to rise, school districts everywhere wrestle with determining the best plans for opening school. Myself, as well as other parents I know, have been talking about how the topic of back-to-school has left us with some tough decisions to make.
With the pandemic still raging either you send your kids to school and risk their health and the health of others, or you keep them home for homeschooling. Truth is, there is no good answer, and whatever you choose won’t be a perfect solution.
The decision is a difficult one for you as parents with concerns for your children’s educational progress, your own employment, and the need for your children’s return to school while understandable being concerned about the high risk of the spread of the virus for both you and your families. Whether you’re an entrepreneur or a working parent, everyone is affected in some way or another. It’s a tough spot to be in. As a female founder and a working mother, I know that the decisions you make carry high stakes for yourself, your family, and your community.
With my daughter set for 100% digital learning and only six days before the start of school, there is still high anxiety about school this fall. The thought of the changes I need to make for my family is weighing heavily on my mind.
Whether you’re making the switch to digital learning by choice or necessity, you have to do the best you can. But, as we all continue to figure out how to navigate these crazy times, one thing is for sure—you can always use a little extra support. So encourage one another, because we’re in this together!
