Dear Second-born,
My beautiful little one, you are as dainty as rose petals, yet as hard as steel. And while my life is no fairytale, you’re indeed the cutest little princess. You’ve been a blessing from the start, with your little stardust soul sprinkling magic wherever you go. You say the darndest things, and always know how to put a smile on your momma’s face.
This world won’t be able to contain your light, because you are magic! And I’m the lucky one, because I didn’t give you the gift of life, life gave me the gift of you. I just get to wear the title of being your mother. And if anyone calls you an alpha-woman, thank them for the compliment, because you’re indeed a fierce queen — courtesy of your momma.
Don’t forget to stay true to you, fall in love with yourself first, and know you are more than enough! Don’t ever be fearful of anyone’s perception of you, because they can’t make you feel inferior without your consent. Don’t let the circumstances of life ever keep you down, just adjust your crown and keep going. And if anyone ever has the audacity to ask who do you think you are? Simply respond, I’m a fearless and wonderfully-made child of God.
You and your sister are two of the happiest chapters of my life that I will ever write in my life’s story. And someday, when the pages in my book of life ends, you and your sister will be my most beautiful chapters.
Always and forever, your mother.
