How do you navigate the maze of managing your family and growing your career while achieving new levels of creativity and inspiration?
I’m a firm believer in hard work and hustle, but also being your best and healthiest self.
Daily, we dive into our careers focused on making the buck and tending to every family need. Quickly, our career and family becomes our identity, and prioritizing our own health and happiness is placed at the end of an endless to-do list.
We tend to utilize our creativity only for work or family life, and when it comes to our own self-care we somehow get complacent. Taking a break is not only important to unwind from work but also to our mental health–to keep our mind sharp and open to new and creative ideas.
Take it from me–you deserve it.
You don’t need to reserve cocktails for entertaining guests; there are touches you can add to get the party started.
STRAWBERRY LEMONADE MIMOSA
INGREDIENTS
- 1/4 cup lemonade
- 1/2 cup strawberry juice
- 1 bottle champagne
- Strawberries halves, for garnish or snacking
In these Thumbs Up Diamond Glasses, combine lemonade and strawberry juice. Top off with champagne and serve. For a fancy-ish touch, garnish with a strawberry half and add a brightly colored straw.
Taking time to indulge in creative self-care at home can help your personal and professional potential. Focus on the little moments and be mindful of the sensory experiences of the things around you. Think about what you smell. What do you hear? When we begin to live more mindfully, worries about things that are not going so well will go away, and we’ll be able to perceive situations more positively.
With warm weather finally here, the sunlight gives my home a new life. I work from home, so today, I was in a rather celebratory mood for no reason. And because May is officially Mental Health Awareness Month, I decided to ditch plans to dive into work at my new desk in favor of what seemed to be a much-needed break.
It turned out to be such a fun and rejuvenating day that felt special simply because I did something unexpected without feeling guilty.
